Conficker Worm: Is your PC Infected?

It is way past April Fools, and CONFICKER still poses a threat to every PC in the world. Some people say that it was like the Y2K phenomenon. But some say that maybe CONFICKER is just getting started.

How do I know that my PC is infected?

According to PCWORLD.com

Spreading across networks, Conficker finds vulnerable computers and automatically disables security services (like Windows Update and antivirus) and blocks access to various well-known security firms’ Websites. Another symptom of Conficker infection is when your Internet connection is running suspiciously slowly, without any apparent reason.

Basically, if your using a very good anti-virus then I guess you wouldn’t have to worry. But if you want to make sure, and check if your PC has been infected you can use this CONFICKER EYE CHART.

The site’s CHART pulls images from three sites that Conficker is known to block and displays them in a box. Below the box is a guide to interpreting how you see the images — if they all show up you’re in good shape, but if one or more doesn’t display it could indicate a Conficker (or other malware) infection.
