I have been always asked by friends, and customers about this. How do I get to maintain my laptop’s battery life? Because they always end up blaming the quality of the product they just bought. But you see sometimes its not just the product to blame, the truth is its always the user. We tend to abuse everything our laptops can do, and when the can’t do anything well we blame the quality.
So here are my ways to improve laptop battery life:
- Drop the Screen Brightness – When your laptop is not plugged in an outlet, you can reduce the screen brightness. Some Laptop’s I have seen automatically reduces the screen brightness when it senses that it is not plugged in an outlet. And when you plugged the laptop back to an outlet, the screen will automatically be bright. But to be sure, if your laptop is not plugged in, you can drop the screen brightness.
- Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi – If you are not using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, you can turn it off. It sucks the life of your battery.
- Do not Watch DVD’s – If you are planning on watching a DVD on your laptop while it is not plugged in. Well don’t! it uses a lot of battery, which wil make the laptop last for less than hour, leaving you hanging on the edge, because your laptop powered down.
- Unplugged unused USB devices – If you are not using your thumb drives or other USB devices, unplugged it. When you leave the thumb drive or any other USB devices plugged. It also sucks the life of your battery
- If you are planning on plugging your laptop in an outlet for hours, remove the battery first – Some laptops, can be plugged in an outlet, even if you remove the battery. You can use this to extend the battery life of your laptop.
Well there you have it, if you follow this steps, this would improve the battery life of your laptops. If you have some suggestions about this topic please feel free to leave comments.
